Active monitoring of your IT infrastructure is essential for secure operation and rapid problem resolution.
So I am happy to keep an eye on your IT infrastructure and ensure secure operation that you don't have to worry about it.
What does the »Monitoring check« offer you?
Me as an IT expert 👨💻 takes care of the following
1️⃣ Regularly reading and evaluating automatically sent notifications (e.g. via email, Telegram or monit) regarding
- Pending/available (security) updates
- Malfunctions and outages
- Successful/failed backups
- General information
2️⃣ Organizing the information contained in the notifications and taking proactive action if necessary
3️⃣ Informing the customer about any need for action
4️⃣ Creating a fault history that can be accessed if necessary
How does it work?
The »Monitoring check« is structured modularly so it is split into various modules. It is billed per device sending me automated notifications where the number of notifications/modules per device is not relevant.
How is billing handled?
For the first device that sends automated notifications to me, the module Monitoring check: First Device is required additionally. For all other devices only the costs for the first »Monitoring check« module is applied.
Special case
The modules Monitoring check: IKARUS anti.virus, Monitoring check: Mailflow and Security check: Public IP are not billed per device but per account / IP address.Let's take a look at an example
A NAS system sends me notifications about successful/failed backups via email on a regular basis. Since this is the first device, the monthly costs for the modules Monitoring check: First Device and Monitoring check: Email apply.
Now I'm additionally setting up a Telegram notification on the device to notify me about outages. The module Monitoring check: Telegram is then linked internally, but the monthly costs remain the same. This is because a single paid module has already been booked for this device and monitoring is billed per device and not per module.
If two additional servers are added with each running monit as monitoring software, and these are integrated into my M/Monit monitoring, the costs for the Monitoring check: monit are applied additionally per device every month.
The following costs are therefore charged every month:
Device »Monitoring check« modules NAS system 1x Monitoring check: First Device (required)
1x Monitoring check: Email
1x Monitoring check: Telegram (free of charge)Server 1 1x Monitoring check: monit Server 2 1x Monitoring check: monit Billing period
Billing is done annually in advance and is adjusted accordingly whenever the number of devices changes. If desired, quarterly/half-yearly payment in advance is also possible.
Termination
You can cancel the »Monitoring check« for each device at any time before the end of a calendar month for the following calendar month (e.g. cancellation by March 31 terminates the contract on April 1). Any excess amounts paid will be refunded or offset with other services.
You can easily send me your cancellation request via the SWEETreport (🇩🇪). How this works is described here in detail (🇩🇪).
In the event of cancellation I will discontinue the proactive monitoring check for this device and redirect all notifications to you. You then have to decide for yourself based on the notifications whether action is necessary or not. Except for the one-time costs of changing the notification recipients on your device there are no further costs.
You can rebook the »Monitoring check« for this device at any time.
